ArtGraf Workshop Saturday, 13 June 2026 - 3 hour foundation workshop in watercolour graphite

Let me introduce you to the wonderful world of water soluble graphite with ArtGraf.

This is not your average watercolour class, which, let's be honest, Cape Town has plenty of on offer. This is something newer that you may not have tried before and I believe will gift you with incredibly surprising, and rewarding, results.

In this three-hour workshop, join me, Candice Christie from Hey Sweet Art, as I introduce you to ArtGraf by Viarco, a watersoluble graphite medium that gives you the beautiful granulation of graphite in a gorgeous painterly flow. Learn some really wonderful tips and tricks and give in to those incredibly captivating and granulating blooms. You will fall in love with ArtGraf's expressive washes with depth and atmosphere that are almost impossible to achieve any other way.

If you love to draw but have always wanted to paint, or if you paint and want to reconnect with working in the values of graphite, this workshop was designed for you.

What to expect

You will spend three hours working alongside Candice in a relaxed environment. The session includes a live demonstration, structured exercises to help you understand the medium, and open painting time to develop your own piece. All levels are welcome an no prior experience is required.

As materials, resources and time are allocated to your booking, as well as the space provisioned for which could hinder an alternate booking, we will not accept cancellation refund requests within 7 days of the session unless a replacement can be found in time. Cancellation made 7 or more days prior the session will be credited towards a future equivalent session if applicable (medical/family emergency etc). When you are enrolled in a 4 week block, or other ongoing session, depending on circumstances you may be able to be accommodated in a catch up session if there is one planned in the calendar, otherwise the portion allocated to that session will be forfeited. Beginner classes do have video catch ups made available after each session. Any resource material will be provided to you digitally for you to complete the project in your time. Concessions may be considered for extenuating circumstances, at the discretion of Hey Sweet Art.
